Musicianship and Sight-Reading
TURN IT UP: MUSICIANSHIP SKILLS CAMP: June 27-July 1, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
This camp will focus four essential skills for good musicianship: ear-training, intervalic and rhythmic dexterity, sight-singing, and part-holding in an ensemble context. All ages welcome. Music Theory 1 or equivalent is a pre-requisite as knowledge of music fundamentals is key to success in the program.
TURN IT UP: SIGHT-READING BOOTCAMP: August 1st - 5th, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Ready to improve your sight-reading skills? This will be a fast-paced camp that will focus on fun strategies and techniques for confident sight-reading. Students will practice examples using: simple and complex meter, Major and minor keys, and movable do solfege. There will be extensive drills, exercises, and practice work. All ages welcome. Music Theory 1 or equivalent is a pre-requisite as knowledge of music fundamentals is key to success in the program.
